Demi Lovato thinks fame hungry people should just “make a sex tape”.
The singer-and-actress found stardom on the Disney Channel and has since recorded albums, appeared in films such as Camp Rock and joined The X Factor US judging panel.
Having famously claimed fame ages people by ten years, the 20-year-old had a straight answer when asked what she would say if one of her future children wanted a life in the limelight.
“When people say, ‘I want to be famous – I want to be a star’, you have to ask: ‘What are your intentions? If you just want to be famous, make a sex tape,’” she bluntly told British newspaper The Guardian.
“So what I'd say is: ‘If you're doing it because you want to be a respected actress or musician, follow your dream. If you just want paparazzi following you, rethink what's going on in your little head.’ It's crazy how people confuse the two nowadays.”
Just like stars such as Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, Demi has Disney to thank for putting her name out there.
While the Camp Rock franchise might have helped to make her a star, Demi wouldn’t be interested in reviving it with a third instalment.
“As much as I love Disney Channel and what they've done for me, it's a chapter that's closed. And I'm very glad that it is,” she said.
While the days of appearing on kids’ TV might be over for Demi, she did make some life-long friends during her Disney days.
When asked about who she would recruit for a dream girlband, she answered Disney princesses Selena and Miley Cyrus, as well as country crooner Taylor Swift.
Demi’s self-titled album includes the smash-hit Heart Attack, which claims she would suffer heart failure should she fall in love.
She has no plans to be belting the tune out at old age.
“Hopefully I'll stop singing it a long time before then, but yes – I won't be singing that song in a nursing home any time soon,” she laughed.
