Britney Spears' new album will be her "most personal ever".
The singer released her last record Femme Fatale in 2011 and is now working on her eighth musical offering.
No release date or title is yet known, but the star has teased what fans can expect from her upcoming tracks.
"Really excited 2 give u a taste of my new album... can't wait 2 share what I've been working on. Going to be my most personal album ever :) (sic)," she shared on Twitter.
Britney took a small hiatus between releasing 2008 album Circus and Femme Fatale.
She struggled with personal problems a few years ago but has got her life back on track. The star made a comeback as a judge on The X Factor US last year and her new music is eagerly awaited by her fans.
"Thank you SOO much for voting my new music as the Most Anticipated Event of 2013 on @Billboard! Lot of pressure ;) (sic)" she posted.
As well as working on her music, the star is mother to sons Jayden James and Sean.
She recently hinted the boys might be looking to follow in her famous footsteps.
"They do like attention so I think they would probably be a little good in the limelight. We're taking baby steps right now as far as agencies and stuff go but they're little comedians so we'll see," she said in an interview with Mario Lopez.
