Red Hot Chili Peppers front man Anthony Kiedis got into a brawl with security protecting the Rolling Stones.

The singer fought with a guard stopping him from entering the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

It happened as the star attempted to enter his accommodation with a female friend but was turned away by a man standing outside.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the pair lashed out at each other after Anthony insisted on walking through the front doors.

It is thought the man could have been hired by either the hotel or the Rolling Stones to ensure a swift exit to their waiting car.

Despite onlookers shouting from afar that the 50-year-old was a famous rock star, the guard was determined to stop him in his tracks.

A representative for the hotel denied him as their worker as did the musicians, according to the website.

Anthony would not refer to his scuffle after details of the incident emerged.

However he reassured the public that he is still a huge fan of the group’s music.

"I love the Rolling Stones," he quite simply told TMZ when approached for comment.

The band consisting of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts, was there to play a show as part of their 50 and Counting anniversary tour at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday.
