Situated on the party beach of Zrce on the Croatian island of Pag, Fresh Island Festival is a newcomer on the international scene but making big waves with the line-up of huge hip hop talent it has managed to attract.
With less than a month to go to the event, the organisers have just announced that rap legend KRS One will join the bill, which already boasts A$AP Rocky, Iggy Azalea and Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion.
Best known for tracks such as ‘Sound of Da Police’ and ‘MCs Act Like They Don’t Know’ KRS One has appeared in films and written books. He also appears on REM’s ‘Radio Song’ from the album ‘Out of Time’.
Festival organisers promise that these headline acts will perform on an intimate beach club stage and warm up acts include Melody Kane and Tony Touch.
Last year’s event – which was headlined by Nas, Eve and DJ Muggs – brought the island to a standstill as a spokesman for Fresh Island explained ',Planes were being stopped on the runway because of Eve, flights were being changed due to Nas late arrival.. A summer storm was raging just before Eve was about to perform, but then it stopped minutes before show started.. But all these minor setbacks didn’t spoil the unforgettable atmosphere and excellent performances of the first European hip-hop & r’n’b festival on the beach…’
