Jessica Simpson plans to take a "serious breather" from having children after she gives birth.

The singer-and-designer and her fiancé Eric Johnson are expecting their second baby together. The little boy will be a brother for their daughter Maxwell, who was born last May.

Jessica confirmed she was expecting again just seven months after welcoming her first child and apparently won't be falling pregnant again anytime soon.

"Jessica and Eric did not plan to get pregnant again so quickly!" an insider told OKmagazine.com. "They were delighted about it - when it finally sunk in - but kind of shell shocked!

"Jessica is going to be a lot more careful after her son is born and has vowed to take a serious breather from anymore baby making for at least two or three years."

The star and her fiancé had to cancel their wedding plans after she realised she was expecting again. Walking down the aisle is said to be one of the 32-year-old star's priorities.

"Both Jessica and Eric are very hands on parents and they want to be able to enjoy their time with Maxwell and her brother, when he arrives, as much as possible, in addition to working on their relationship together," the source explained.

"Jessica's priority after the baby arrives is going to be finalising the details of her and Eric's wedding and then she is going to concentrate on their marriage and on their family.

"She's not going to get caught out a third time - two children is more than enough for her to deal with for the next few years!"

Erin and Jessica are thrilled to be having a boy, with Jessica recently explaining she is looking forward to dressing the new arrival in mini leather jackets.

She also can't wait for the challenge of raising a son, as she didn't have a brother growing up.

Eric is a former American football star and apparently already hopes the tot will follow in his footsteps and become a big name in the sport.
