Fall Out Boy wouldn't want to "mess" with Sir Elton John.

The band - consisting of Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley - announced a temporary hiatus at the end of 2009.

The boys are back with album Save Rock and Roll, which includes a track of the same name featuring musical legend Elton.

Patrick and Pete loved working with him, although they did feel slightly intimidated.

"He's awesome man!" they gushed to Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

"He's incredible, because he's Elton, so he carries with him, 'I'm Sir Elton.' He's a genuine nice guy, but it puts a lot of pressure on because you don't want to mess with him."

The album also features a collaboration with Courtney Love, entitled Rat a Tat.

Fall Out Boy had a great time recording with the eccentric singer.

"There was a lot of camaraderie with her. She's out here a little bit, but she's real smart... You don't really realise, but she's circling everybody, very predatory. In a very intelligent way, she remembers all these numbers and weird stuff from years ago... She's cool," they smiled.

"And she offered a different perspective. At the end of the day, anything on the record, we wanted to wait until we were all really happy with it."

Save Rock and Roll is out on April 15.
