Lil Wayne was disconcerted by exaggerated reports he was on his deathbed after suffering a seizure.

The 30-year-old rapper, real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., suffered from uncontrollable convulsions on March 12 and was taken to a Los Angeles hospital.

He was released shortly thereafter but was found unconscious in his room by his bodyguard and admitted to an intensive care unit just hours later, according to TMZ.

The rapper left the hospital for the second time in one week’s time on Monday and is recovering from the health scare.

President of his Young Money record label Mack Maine reveals one of Wayne’s most shocking moments came when the rapper heard reports he was going to be read his last rites.

"I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mum was in the other room, and his face dropped," Mack said on MTV’s RapFix Live on Wednesday.

"I just saw it in his face, like, 'I can't believe that,'"
TMZ also linked Wayne’s seizure episode to an overdose of a concoction called Sizzurp, which includes prescription-strength cough syrup with codeine as its primary ingredient.

The rapper’s record label has firmly denied the claim.

Mack again tried to put the rumours to rest. He insisted Wayne is too much of a family man to be so reckless with his health.

"A lot of blogs and stuff put out some foolishness, but that wasn't true," he said. "He has four kids. Imagine his daughter hearing that somewhere in school or something like that, so he wasn't too happy about that."

Mack also thanked fans for wishing Wayne well and said the rapper is looking forward to a speedy recovery.

“A lot of people reached out and showed love, but Wayne's at home, he's relaxing," he said.
