Carly Rae Jepsen is excited to embark on a "massive collaboration" with her fans.

The singer has teamed up with Owl City in the past to produce massive hit Good Time and is currently touring with Justin Bieber.

However, her next project involves her fans, as she gives them a chance to help choose the lyrics to her next song via Coca-Cola's Perfect Harmony competition.

The Call Me Maybe singer likes the idea of involving her devoted followers in the process of song writing.

"Well I loved the idea that it was a massive collaboration. And, there's nothing better than sort of getting fan feedback. I know even with this past year, it's been a big part of my process, hearing what the fans love," she smiled to MTV News.

"And it seemed like a crazy challenge to write a song with three different versions to it and allow the fans to kind of go choose their favourite and help me create not only that, but the performance itself. It's going to be fun."

The finished track will be performed live during the finale of TV show American Idol and fans will have a say in not only the lyrics, but also Carly's stage design and costume.

The 27-year-old already has some tricks up her sleeve for the big reveal.

"Well I created a summer-themed idea and there's three different lyrics options and it's all kind of about the things I love about summer basically," she teased.

"And then we've created, as well, some different behind-the-scenes back-up dancer outfits and what we're gonna do for the pyro and lighting, just helping us create the set design as well. It's really a way for the fans to kind of engage and be involved in making this performance come to life. So, it's going to be fun."
