Carrie Underwood says her OCD tendencies “freak people out”.

The American country singer likes to have order in certain aspects of her life, joking it's as if she has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Carrie is currently mid-way through her Blown Away Tour and is set to headline the Country To Country festival in London on Saturday. Touring is so chaotic she feels the need to impose strict order on herself.

“I'm OCD about time; I'm early for everything, to the point where it freaks people out. That's my one [thing], it's a good thing I guess, but I know it's annoying to the people around me. I'm on time for everything. If I'm late, something's wrong, like I've wrecked my car,” Carrie told British newspaper the Daily Mail.

“My life is so nuts, there are few things I am in control of, but those I am uber in control of. That's why I'm on time, because I can take control of that.”

Carrie shot to fame after winning American Idol in 2005. She has since gone on to have huge success worldwide, meaning she spends a lot of time on the road.

The 30-year-old believes this has contributed to many of her quirks.

“Food, I'm weird about food, because I can be and there's certain organisational things,” she shared.

“Stuff has its place all the time. I'm not a clean freak, but there are certain things that have their place and that's the place they have to stay.”

Carrie recently revealed she doesn’t have an entourage as she prefers to do her own chores when away from home.

“[I do my own laundry and I cook] veggie burgers and quesadillas, mainly – people walk on the tour bus and it stinks,” Carrie revealed to Glamour.
