Jerry Hall carries her ex’s around on her iPod.
Hall was engaged to Bryan Ferry when she was 19. She was married to Mick Jagger between 1990 and 1999. Mick wrote ‘Miss You’ about her. She was also the subject of Bryan’s hit ‘Kiss and Tell’.
“I still love their music,” she tells Noise11.com. “And David Bowie, I love his new album. I love The Stones, they are great. I do love Bryan Ferry’s music. I think he is fantastic”.
Despite her high-profile relationships with two of the world’s biggest rock stars Jerry gets on fine with her ex’s these days. “We are great friends,” she said. “That was a long time ago. I think I was about 19 when I was engaged to Bryan Ferry. We see each other and we are great friends. Mick and I have the four children so we speak all the time. They both adore me, of course”.
Her musical tastes are far removed from the Texas town where she grew up. “I listen to a variety of things,” she said. “Nina Simone I adore, Edith Piaf, lots of Ella Fitzgerald. I like a lot of the lady singers”.
Jerry is in Australia for a new production of ‘The Graduate’, due to start in Melbourne in September. She also loves the music from the show, mostly by Simon & Garfunkel. “The music from The Graduate is so wonderful, Simon & Garfunkel and all of those fantastic songs,” she said.
‘The Graduate’ will play a limited season at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne from September 24.
