Mick Jones and Lou Gramm have had a long tumultuous relationship with numerous problems but the two will bury the hatchet on June 13 when they are inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The former songwriting and performing bandmates split for the final time in 2003 over what Jones called a failure to communicate. Jones picked Kelly Hansen as the new Foreigner lead singer in 2005 and Gramm has gone on to perform both solo and as the Christian rock group The Lou Gramm Band.
Ultimate Classic Rock talked with Jones, who said that he and Gramm would perform Jukebox Hero and I Want to Know What Love Is, their composition that has the distinction of being one of ASCAP’s 25 most performed songs of all time.
He told the site “I’m so proud of what Lou and I achieved in those early years and throughout the time that we were together. I think it’s the first time that we’ve been recognized for our work and our writing, which was really the foundation of what we did together, as much as the performing.”
Jones and Gramm’s songs include the previously mentioned hits along with Cold as Ice, Double Vision, Head Games and Dirty White Boy.
