One Direction weren’t happy about Mumford & Sons brushing them off on Wednesday.

The British boy band and UK rock group were both up for awards at the BRITs this year.

One Direction scooped up the Global Success trophy, even though Mumford & Sons were the favourite to win, but the rockers triumphed over the pop band in the Best British Group category.

Apparently One Direction – which is comprised of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – attempted to congratulate Mumford & Sons for their victory, but the goodwill gesture was denied.

“The bands were passing in the corridor and 1D made an attempt to chat to them and say there were no hard feelings about them both winning different categories,” a source told British newspaper the Mirror.

"But Mumford were having none of it. They didn’t want to know. It was really awkward and everyone noticed.”

Apparently One Direction had nothing but good intentions.

At an afterparty hosted by Sony in the Dover Street Arts Club, Louis revealed his reaction to the diss.

“It was disappointing,” Louis said.

“Mumford’s reaction was disappointing. We’re really big fans and wanted to congratulate them. It was a shame.”
