Will.i.am has reportedly splashed out nearly $1 million on a new ride.

The Black Eyed Peas rapper was rumoured to be the owner of a flamboyant all-aluminum vehicle rolling around the streets of Los Angeles.

TMZ captured footage of the musician driving the car on Tuesday night in the city.

Car enthusiast website Jalopnik called the vehicle a “futuristic Morgan Aero 8”, referring to the famous sports car built by Morgan Motor Company.

The British motor manufacturer produced the vehicle from 2001 to 2010.

The car features a similar aluminum alloy chassis, although will.i.am’s vehicle was reportedly built from scratch by West Coast Customs. It is unknown if the car he was driving is based on the Morgan model.

The California body shop was responsible for transforming everyday vehicles into “pimp” rides on popular MTV US car show Pimp My Ride.

The car isn’t the only expensive vehicle will.i.am has in his garage.

He also has a DeLorean modified by West Coast Customs for an estimated $700,000.

The vehicle came into the spotlight last summer when will.i.am claimed it was stolen outside of a Hollywood nightclub.

The valet was initially reported at fault but will.i.am later confirmed he parked the vehicle himself.

The 37-year-old rapper, real name William Adams, also did not file a police report.

Days later an employee of West Coast Customs confirmed he was in possession of the vehicle.

Critics wrote off the incident as a publicity stunt. The rapper has not confirmed those rumours.
