It only took them 50 years but The Beach Boys have finally won their first Grammy Award.

The Grammy Award for Best Historical Album went to The Beach Boys for their The Smile Sessions boxed set.

Wilson had previously won a Grammy as a solo artist in 2004 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for ‘Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow’.

Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson picked up the award on behalf of the band and then confirmed that there will be no more reunions. When Wilson was asked backstage in the media room about another reunion his response was, “No, I don’t think so”.

The historical 50th Anniversary reunion and new album last year with Brian and Al Jardine back in the band was short-lived. It ended badly when Mike Love, the current owner of the brand name, fired Wilson and Jardine for no reason at the end of the tour.
