Celtic have one of the biggest games in their recent history coming up on Wednesday against Italian side Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.

Hopes of a surprise win are high, especially given their exploits in the group stage against the likes of Barcelona and Spartak Moscow, but it seems that they may have yet another celebrity fan!

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, now going by the name Snoop Lion after recently converting to Rastafarianism has expressed his love of the Scottish champions, particularly after playing so well during their two ties against Barcelona in the group stages last autumn. Snoop had plenty of praise for the club, and has been seen wearing the famous hoops from time to time.

He’s expected to attend the match at Celtic Park, but he’s apparently asked the powers that be at the club if he can lead them out as a mascot. Although mascots are usually kids from local schools, it seems that Snoop is excited about being on the same pitch as Georgios Samaras, apparently his favourite Celtic player, but some people reckon his chances of becoming a mascot are slim.

"Snoop might be a big deal but we think he's barking up the wrong tree on this occasion” said Jessica Bridge from Ladbrokes, who have odds of 20/1 on him being given the opportunity to lead Celtic onto the famous Parkhead pitch. However, he’s just 1/10 to be at the game.

Odds of 3/10 are available on Snoop being pictured in the crowd during the game sat next to veteran singer Rod Stewart, perhaps the most famous Celtic fan on the planet. Should Celtic win, 100/1 is the price you can get for the rapper to be seen crying at the end of the match.

Snoop is only one of a number of big stars to show their love for the Glasgow-based team. Aside from Rod Stewart, other names including Susan Boyle have been spotted at Celtic Park in the past, while comedian Billy Connolly is seen in the stands from time to time during big games.

Despite making it known that he’s grown fond of Scotland’s biggest football club, Snoop has been seen with other famous faces from the sport in the past. Not too long ago, he was seen hanging out with none other than former England and LA Galaxy star David Beckham, who happens to be one of Snoop’s biggest fans.
