Green Day to premiere two films at SXSW

The chances of Green Day making their concert comeback at SXSW have increased with news that their movies ‘Cuatro’ and ‘Broadway Idiot’ will both premiere at the SXSW Film in March.

‘Cuatro’ documents for 18-month creation of the three recent Green Day albums ‘Uno’, ‘Dos’ and ‘Tre’. The doco was directed by Tim Wheeler.

‘Broadway Idiot’, directed by Doug Hamilton goes behind the scenes of the Broadway musical version of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ musical with Billie Joe Armstrong.

Green Day cancelled their American tour when Armstrong went into rehab last year but will resurrect the tour at the end of March.

Both ‘Cuatro’ and ‘Broadway Idiot’ will premiere SXSW Film, on from March 8 – 16, in Austin, Texas.

Another hot ticket at SXSW is the Aussie BBQ. 42 Australian acts will head to Austin for SXSW this year. Those playing the Aussie BBQ will be announced in mid-February.
