Selena Gomez wants to "surprise people" with her music.
The actress-and-singer performed her one-night-only UNICEF benefit Acoustic Charity Concert in New York City on Saturday, where she entertained the crowd with renditions of hit tracks including Justin Timberlake's Cry Me a River.
The 20-year-old star is set to release an album in March but won't unveil any of her new tracks just yet.
"I'm kind of keeping [the new music] under-wraps," Selena told ET Online. "I'm not really saying much... because I really want to surprise people."
Selena remained tight-lipped about the album but did reveal she'd like to collaborate with her close friend, country star Taylor Swift.
"I want to [work with Taylor]! We should, I have like a month left. She's actually recording too right now, so she's in Nashville, but hopefully," Selena explained.
The pop star has had much success with her previous fundraising concerts for UNICEF and raised over $200,000 at her second annual concert alone. The organisation, which benefits children in developing countries, is a cause Selena feels strongly about.
"I absolutely admire the people that get up every day and devote their lives to helping kids," Selena said. "I think takes such strength for somebody to do that."
The 20-year-old The Wizards of Waverly Place actress feels it's her duty to do what she can for the charity. This is due to her feeling a strong and special connection to young people and her teenage fans.
"Kids are so honest, that's why [I want to do what I can to help out].... Me just using my platform and my voice, doing shows like this for them - I want to do as much as I can," Selena finished.
