Beyonce Knowles belted out America’s national anthem at President Barack Obama’s inauguration on Tuesday.

The ceremony marked Obama’s second term as President of the United States and a host of celebrities attended to show their support.

Beyonce and husband Jay-Z made a grand entrance at the ceremonial swearing-in which was held in Washington.

Dressed for the cold weather, Beyoncé looked stunning in a black Dior coat, before she settled down to watch Obama’s second inauguration.

The 31-year-old singer then stepped onto the podium to sing The Star-Spangled Banner to a cheering crowd.

Also in attendance was Kelly Clarkson, who tweeted a picture of herself with Beyoncé.

“Me and B just hangin' out ....don't worry about it,” she posted.

“Seriously, God did good. She is so beautiful! (sic)”

The American Idol winner then took to the stage to give a rendition of patriotic America - My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.

Jennifer Hudson had the honour of performing as Obama and his First Lady Michelle shared their first dance.

The 31-year-old sang Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together as the happy couple shared a few kisses.

Also in attendance were Obama supporters Katy Perry and her beau John Mayer and Eva Longoria.

It seems the celebrations carried on for the president, who is believed to have booked Lady Gaga to sing at a private party after the inauguration.
