Cher is headed back to television, at a minimum, as a writer but with the possibility of also acting.
She has signed with the LOGO network for a drama set in the Hollywood of the 60"s. Her reported boyfriend, Ron Zimmerman ("Til Death), is co-writing. The pair had already submitted a series with a different premise which was turned down by the network, which feels that the new subject much better suits their station.
Brent Zacky of Logo told the Hollywood Reporter "We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific. We came up with an idea set in Hollywood in the early "60s, and we"re very excited to see how we get through the process. The deal is brand-new and we"re just getting started on the project."
Cher starred in The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and, later, her own variety show during the 70"s and went on to be an Academy Award winning actress. The singer/actress has always had a huge following in the gay community which makes the pairing with LOGO, which caters to the LBGT-community, an excellent match.
