Kelly Osbourne says therapy was “one of the scariest times” of her life.

The reality TV star has battled prescription medication addiction, spending time in rehab to get help. Having to talk about her problems and what led to them was one of the toughest things she has ever been through.

“That was one of the scariest times of my life. I swear I’ve never felt more naked, because I had to actually be me and couldn’t mask it,” she told Cosmopolitan Body magazine.

Kelly has famously slimmed down, losing 69lbs. after appearing on US TV show Dancing with the Stars.

She is a lot happier now, but insists her feelings aren’t just down to her new body. The 28-year-old star says things go a lot deeper than that.

“I’ll never be the kind of person who thinks, ‘I’m so hot.’ I don’t want to be. But I learnt to respect and love myself – something I didn’t think I would ever be capable of,” she explained.

“At the Emmys last year I had my first moment when I really felt good. I put on my dress and when I looked at myself in the mirror I cried.”

Kelly’s boyfriend Matthew Mosshart has also had a dramatic effect on her happiness. Although she was previously engaged to model Luke Worrall – with the relationship ending after he was allegedly unfaithful – Kelly can’t believe how different things are now.

“A lot of girls don’t believe they deserve the best and their boyfriends walk all over them. I learnt the hard way,” she said. “But when I met Matthew everything changed and I realised I’d never been in love before.”
