Carly Rae Jepsen was left “speechless” by the multitude of awesome experiences she had in 2012.

The Canadian crooner shot to fame this year when her hit single Call Me Maybe became an international hit.

In June Carly put on a free performance with Justin Bieber in Mexico City during an outdoor concert.

Carly admits that singing in front of 300,000 fans was daunting at first.

"I thought, 'How am I going to sing?'," she told MTV News.

"I was kind of speechless by the amount of [fans]. But I went out there, sang Call Me Maybe and they took it home. [The experience was] really cool."

Carly won two trophies at November’s MTV Europe Music Awards in the Best Song and Best Push Act categories.

The star is in awe of the great level of success she’s achieved in such a short period of time.

"I was really lucky to see some of my favourite acts [Fun and Taylor Swift]," she recalled.

"And then I won two EMAs. I was not expecting that."
