Although they've been enclosed in the studio working on their 6th record, they still have the unique power to attract fans' attention.
The fans are waiting both for new songs from the Followill brothers and their live shows, and among them, the one at Open’er Festival.
Things changed a lot since their last visit to Poland. That Caleb, Nathan, Jared, and Matthew Followill continue to follow their own muse and refuse to play it safe is especially impressive as being still on the heels of Kings of Leon’s most successful album to date, 2008’s Only By The Night.
The multi-platinum-selling album debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, hit No. 1 in five countries, sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide, and earned Kings of Leon four Grammy Awards, including wins for their No. 1’s "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody". Kings of Leon began to record Come Around Sundown in February 2010, just four months after winding up nearly two years of touring the globe behind Only By The Night. Come Around Sundown connected the dots between the blues, classic rock, and gospel influences of the Followill’s childhood to the alternative and indie rock. Promoted with singles "Radioactive" and "Pyro", again, it sold millions of copies all over the world.
Last autumn, the band members announced they're going on a temporary hiatus to concentrate on family life. Kings Of Leon will return next year with a new record, but also with their set of hits not only from their heydays, but also their beginnings, from the garage-rock feel of their first two albums, 2003’s Youth and Young Manhood, 2005’s Aha Shake Heartbreak, to 2007’s expansive Because of the Times, not sacrificing any of the rich, anthemic quality that made Only By the Night so appealing. The band will perform at Open'er Festival on July 6, 2013.
The first artists confirmed to Open’er 2013 are Blur (July 3, 2013) and Queens of the Stone Age (July 5, 2013).
