Barry Manilow turns 50

Barry Manilow has turned 50. Well, in hits that is.

After four decades of hits, the legendary Mr. Manilow has just clocked up his 50th Billboard Adult Contemporary hit with ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’.

According to Gary Trust at Billboard (@gthot20) Barry Manilow has moved in front of Johnny Mathis with 49 hits and is in 5th spot behind Elton John (68 hits), Barbra Streisand (64 hits), Neil Diamond (58 hits) and Elvis Presley (53 hits).

Manilow’s first hit was ‘Mandy’ in November 1974 (exactly 38 years ago this week).
