John Mayer apparently thinks Santa Barbara would be the “perfect” place to get married, and believes Katy Perry is “The One”.
The music stars have only been dating since June, but it seems they are serious about each other. They have reportedly been talking about marriage and have been spotted visiting the Old Mission church in Katy’s hometown of Santa Barbara, California.
“John’s talked about Katy being ‘The One’ ever since their first date,” a source told Look magazine. “He suggested they visit the wedding venue because he’s always thought Santa Barbara would be the perfect place to get married. He told Katy he wouldn’t want a big blowout, but would love the idea of wearing tails with a top hat! He was also talking about how incredible Katy would look in a Vera Wang dress.”
John is renowned as a womaniser, having previously dated Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson.
However, there is speculation the 35-year-old singer now feels ready to settle down and has told Katy how he feels.
Katy was previously married to British comic star Russell Brand, with the pair tying the knot in an extravagant ceremony in India following a whirlwind romance.
The 28-year-old singer is smitten with John and has told friends she wants her wedding day to be very different if she decides to get married again.
“Her wedding to Russell wasn’t her dream at all – it was his. He wanted the over-the-top Hindu ceremony in India, with the elephant. It was all very exciting and fun, like Russ, but it just wasn’t for her. Katy wants a traditional wedding with a big white dress…,” a source explained.
“Yes, it’s all happening so quickly, but Katy’s so happy with John. It’s very much the fairytale.”
It has been claimed Katy’s father, who is an evangelical minister, may even perform a blessing for the couple if they do tie the knot.
Earlier this week, Katy and John were spotted enjoying a breakfast date in sunny Santa Barbara.
Katy looked happy and relaxed in a geometric T-shirt dress and sunglasses as they had something to eat before giving her beau a tour of her hometown.
It is believed the pair may even celebrate Thanksgiving with Katy’s parents.
