Justin Bieber only has three "close friends".
The 18-year-old star is one of the most popular young performers in the world and has hordes of adoring girls follow him wherever he goes.
Although he has a jet-setting lifestyle that would make many people jealous, it has impacted his social life.
"I really don't have a lot of friends," he told talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
"I have, like, three close friends that I'll fly out to see me or that I'll chat with, or, you know, call, but that's really the truth."
The Canadian star feels lonely at times and can't always shake the emotion off. He knows he is lucky to be seeing the world thanks to his career but would love to have stronger bonds with more people.
"I get days where I'm just down and, you know, gloomy," he admitted.
The star has previously spoken about wanting to settle down with the right woman. He has been dating Selena Gomez lately, but their relationship is thought to be suffering, following claims he flirted with models at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show earlier this month.
Oprah quizzed Justin on his previous remark that he would like to be married by 25, insisting that is far too young to be committed to someone forever.
"You are Oprah and you're telling me to not get married at 25. I should probably listen to you," he replied.
