Adam Levine appreciates his friendship with Christina Aguilera.
The musicians served as mentors on TV talent show The Voice for three seasons, before Christina announced she would depart.
At one point during filming, Adam and Christina were feuding.
Those arguments are far in the past and Adam respects the Lotus singer.
He has even defended Christina against critics who have bullied her about her size.
“Yeah, I mean listen; the Christina thing was what it was. There were some squabbles and things like that but we’re fine now…Very, very, very close,” he revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Yeah, just leave her alone. I mean, come on. It’s a very basic thing. She should be left alone. No one should bother or haggle her about her weight or anything that she does or says. So, that’s it. That’s how I feel about that.”
Shakira and Usher replace Cee Lo Green and Christina on season four and original judge Blake Shelton remains.
Adam loves his new colleagues.
“Amazing, [Shakira’s] so sweet,” Adam said.
“The only thing, Shakira and Blake have a hard time because they don’t understand each other’s language. Even though Blake is speaking English surprisingly enough. He just kind of says, what are you talking about? What are you even saying? I don’t even know. So, they just don’t understand the accents that they have. It’s funny.”
The Voice’s fourth season airs next spring.
