Khloe Kardashian blames her wardrobe malfunction on Wednesday night’s episode of The X Factor on Hurricane Sandy.
The 28-year-old reality television star kicked off her hosting duties this week on the US show.
But Khloe was left red-faced when she went braless in a blouse she didn’t realise was sheer.
"I had no idea, with my dressing room lights you didn't see a thing,” she told reporters backstage.
“I see Simon [Cowell] sort of doing something like this [points to her chest]… then I hear in my ear, 'We've got to fix your shirt.' I didn't know what they were talking about and I heard, 'Full areola is out,'" she recalled.
The incident quickly became known as “nipplegate”.
But Khloe says this mishap was down to her wardrobe getting stuck on the other side of the country while she filmed in Los Angeles.
“We moved the show up because of the hurricane, so my stuff that was being sent was stuck on the East Coast," Khloe said. "That top [arrived] first thing."
The star was finally able to cover up between breaks.
