Forget tipping your hat – this week the hat is the tip as Eminem effectively announces 2013 as the year for his next album release by having it sewn into a commemorative baseball cap, even before it’s happened.

It’s only when you look closely at the side panel of the pictured hat that you notice two things. The first hint, for dedicated fans, is that there are 8 years on the hat, not the 7 you’d expect (for his 7 solo albums, as currently released). Then you notice that the last one is 2013.
It took only a couple of minutes and dozens of comments in response to the post before someone finally seemed to notice the 2013 addition.
Rumours have been around for months, suggesting that the rapper was back in the studio and the likelihood of Dr. Dre being involved, but this is the strongest indication yet that a new album is in the works.
Should an album not appear, of course, the hat will no doubt become an interesting collector’s item.
