M83 will release his forthcoming single ‘Steve McQueen’, taken from his critically acclaimed album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’, on 25th November, through Naïve.

‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’, M83’s sixth studio album, has taken the Antibes native from an underground hero to a worldwide pop sensation. His debut single ‘Midnight City’ quickly became one of the biggest songs of 2011 with millions of hits on YouTube leading to global chart success.

Since then we have seen the French producer and his band tour the world and play some of the most talked about live shows of the year including Coachella and a sold out Summer Sessions show at London’s Somerset House. Described by Mojo as a “90-minute torrent of sound”, and with Q saying, “…Gonzalez’s ability to connect on stage – and on record – is at the centre of everything they do. Their frontman might be shy, but M83’s time in the limelight is coming.” M83’s live shows are a mix of punchy electro-pop and epic atmospheric soundscapes that have gained huge notoriety, and he will play the last UK show at Brixton Academy on 8th November.

M83 has also been commissioned to write the score for the hotly anticipated new Joseph Kosinski sci-fi film ‘Oblivion’ starring Tom Cruise, due for release April 2013.

Beginning with an M83 tinged cosmic synth riff and layered reverberated vocals, ‘Steve McQueen’ builds gradually before opening up into enormous guitar chords, synth-led skywriting and huge drumbeats. This song is capable of glorifying anything.

The video for the single was an open competition to the public in collaboration with the Genero Awards. Anthony and Genero are currently judging the entries before a winner is announced shortly.

Along with the video, remixes of the single come from Maps, BeatauCue, SALM and Laura Escude. The commercial and critical success of this album has forced M83 to the forefront of pop and made him one of the most talked about artists of the year.
