Liam Payne says he would be "working in a factory" if it wasn't for One Direction.

The singer from the world famous boy band is embracing every moment of their success as he fears it won't last forever. The 19-year-old star revealed the best thing about being in one Direction is the bond he shares with his bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.

“[If it wasn't for One Direction] I would have been working in a factory on a normal wage," Liam told British newspaper The Sun.

“I’m making the most of every second now. There is going to come a time when it all finishes and I just hope we stay mates.”

The heartthrob also spoke about his experiences of fame since joining the group two years ago. The star said one of the hardest things is the attention the band attracts everywhere they go. Liam explained how fan interaction on social networking site Twitter has affected both his ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer and his bandmates.

Zayn recently quit Twitter for a brief period after receiving threats from users of the site posted under anonymous profiles.

“The only person I really worry about is Zayn, because I don’t think he’s quite accustomed to all of this. He’s had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle,” Liam revealed.

“I don’t think he’s quite adjusted to it yet, I’m sure he’ll get it. He’s my best mate. I’ve got to look out for him."
