OK. Hello Bootcamp.
They came, we saw, and they all sang "Moves like Jagger."
So, here we go with the brutal eliminations. Forget doing another audition, one third of them were out without even singing. Perhaps a good thing for us! Disappointing for the culprits but that's the nature of the game.
Singing individually , but alongside others, gave the quality talent a real opportunity to start shining through. Amy Mottram for example. Although she had a bit of a shaky audition, she still showed she was better than the rest and she did enough to get through.
Jade Ellis also stood out and Melanie McCabe sang her heart out to move onto the next round.
Awesome singer Jahmene had a bit of a wobble. Perhaps pressured by his singing partners into singing a song that really wasn't right for him, it really did look like his time might have been up. But we and the judges know this guy can sing and he got though. But the lesson here, stick to what you know.
The battle of the bands now commenced and, first up..it's GMTV, I mean GMD3 vs Triple J. Comparing the two, GMD3 were vocally, not good at all. You really need to step it up a knotch lads. Triple J however were awesome. The harmonies worked and they had that elusive chemistry together.
Groups, Times Red and MK1 all had fun together on the stage. It will be interesting to see how far they each go.
One of my favourite acts from the individual audition round, Lucy Spraggan, is now on the "must improve" list. I know she can and will do better. Come on Lucy.
And, just for the record, a warning to some of the more cocky acts, a certain Mr Gary Barlow is a legend. A bit of respect towards him please.
Onwards and upwards, can Rough Copy and Mitsotu deliver the goods...? Yes they can and their performances were first class, putting their own stamp on their version of She Said by Plan B.
There wasn't much talent to follow, but then James Arthur and Curtis Golden were the redeeming stand outs. Best so far.
We seem to have a lack of "unusual" talent this year. Where are this years Wagner, Jedward...? Oh, hello Rylan.
Now Rylan can actually sing. And he makes me smile. Like him or not he is memorable and I predict a spot at the live shows for him.
Hayley Evetts and Nicola Marie, sadly minus Tammy were up next, they got through but I'm just not getting Nicola. Not at all.
The "overs not out" took centre stage with their performances and Midas act, Carolynne Poole, sailed through with flying colours along with another one of my favourites Melanie Masson.
Jake Quickenden and Adam Burridge got through despite their stage buddie, Robbie Hance walking off the stage halfway through the song.
So that's it. Just 70 remain and the clock is ticking....
