Danny O'Donoghue admits he is a "control freak".

The Script singer has joked about his tendency to work too hard. He recently appeared as a mentor on UK talent show The Voice. The star hasn't had any time off just yet as he’s been preparing for his band’s tour, which starts this week.

"I'm a control freak," Danny joked to British radio host Chris Moyles. "The world tour kicks off in Cork in three days’ time. I'm really happy, tired but happy. I'll get a break straight after the tour though."

The Irish star spoke about his band's latest single release Hall of Fame. The track features Danny's fellow The Voice mentor will.i.am and debuted at number two on the iTunes UK chart yesterday. Danny is keen to collaborate with the other mentors from The Voice after the success of Hall of Fame.

"I would have loved to duet with Tom Jones," Danny explained. "He was playing at a park down the road from where I live but it fell through. I'm trying to get some time to duet with Jessie J too."

The Script's third album #3 is out next week and Danny hopes it will be a hit. However, the star won't be celebrating with a Jägerbomb if the album reaches number one.

He joked that the last time he drank the alcoholic short cocktail - mixed by dropping a shot of Jägermeister into an energy drink – he was soon regretting it.

"I did Jägerbombs two weeks ago and my head's still in a spin," Danny admitted.
