Jordin Sparks thinks Nicki Minaj would create "fun" on American Idol as she is "so unpredictable".

Nicki is one of the high-profile names in the running to join new judge Mariah Carey on the successful TV talent show. Jordin - who won the sixth season of Idol when she was just 17 - thinks the superstar rapper would be the perfect addition to the coveted judging panel of the hit series.

“I think Nicki [Minaj] would be great,” she gushed to the New York Post.

“It would be so fun to see what she does because she’s so unpredictable. I met her the other day, and she is so sweet.”

There has been intense speculation surrounding who will join the Idol judging panel, following the departure of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Nick Jonas, P. Diddy, Enrique Iglesias and Keith Urban have all reportedly been considered.

Jordin, 22, thinks Keith would also be a good choice for the show.

“I think it would be cool to bring somebody with a country flair who has that experience,” she explained.
