The Killers are bringing a "cornucopia filled with forbidden fruits and treasure," to London.

The 'Runaways' group are playing in the English capital on September 11 as part of the iTunes festival, and have sent a special message to fans ahead of the event, to say how excited they are about the show, and how special they want to make it.

The band said: "Good people and notorious libertines of London. Hello from the desert! A hard rain has come to water the gardens of our souls and has yielded a bountiful feast of Rock and Roll for your ears!

"On the 11th day of September, 12th year of 2000, Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci, riding on four thoroughbred horses, will bring you a cornucopia filled with forbidden fruits and treasure, delights for the mind and the body, and tunes to satisfy a veritable hunger you've been yearning for!

"Ladies and Gentleman, behold the blissful union of The Killers and iTunes Festival! Let us celebrate together!Let our ruckus satiate your appetite for thundering drums, volting waves of guitar, voices of angels that tickle your desirous ears like tiny tendrils from the devils garden, and also...bass."

The band will also debut new tracks from their forthcoming 'Battle Born' album.

The statement added: "Let us drink from the goblets of 'Battle Born' and devour its precious nectar together! Clear your calendars, cancel all of your appointments, give your sitter extra, fix your hair all pretty and join us at The Roundhouse in London, UK for this momentous occasion."

'Battle Born' is the first album from the band since 2008's 'Day and Age'.

Other stars already confirmed to perform at the iTunes festival include Pink, Jack White, One Direction and Lana Del Rey.
