Jordin Sparks is currently experiencing an “overwhelming sense of pride” about her career accomplishments.

The singer makes her feature film debut in new Motown drama Sparkle, where she stars alongside late songstress Whitney Houston.

At the Cinema Society screening of the movie Tuesday night, Jordin revealed that she feels a sense of relief now that Sparkle is finally out.

“I am so happy that it came out the way it did and I'm so proud,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Like, I just have this overwhelming sense of pride because one) I watched and went, 'I didn't suck as bad as I thought I did!' and then two) Whitney just glows, she just shines up there. And I feel so proud to be a part of something that made her so happy. And I can't wait for everybody to see it now. I cannot wait.”

Jordin also revealed that she was absolutely terrified about what her mother would say about her acting skills.

“I'm just emotionally drained,” she said. “It was my mom's first time seeing it. So I was nervous about what she was gonna think.”

Sparkle will be released in US theatres this weekend.
