Eva Longoria is "so proud" of Victoria Beckham's Olympic closing ceremony performance.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer reunited with Mel C, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Halliwell for their hotly-anticipated stage return at the high-profile event in London last night.

Hollywood actress Eva took to Twitter after watching the performance to gush about how well her friend had done.

"So proud of my girl @victoriabeckham on the Closing Ceremonies for the Olympics! What an hour and she looked amazing! (sic)" she exclaimed on the social networking site.

A host of stars also wrote about their joy at seeing the five-piece come together for the eagerly awaited performance. La Toya Jackson shared her excitement with fans as she watched the British stars perform their spectacular routine.

"Oh my! The #SPICEGIRLS Soooooo Great!!! I'm simply loving it! (sic)," she wrote.

The Spice Girls wowed audiences both at the Olympic stadium and at home singing classics such as Spice Up Your Life as they raced around the arena on the top of individually designed black taxi cabs.

Another famous face to enjoy the spectacle was Nicole Richie, who posted a message to fans during the show.

"Your favorite closing Olympics performance says SO much about who you are (sic)," she wrote on her page.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was also amazed by the one-off comeback performance from the iconic girl group.

"Instead of a #SpiceGirls tour, which I think is unlikely, I think they should have a residency in Vegas!! An arena! One week every 6 months (sic)," he wrote after watching their impressive show.
