Rita Ora says her pop songs will always have “grit”.

The up-and-coming British artist is signed to Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation. Her debut album, ORA, will be released later this month. Rita has already enjoyed success with her single R.I.P. and opened for Coldplay on their recent tour. The star is staying true to her musical roots and hopes her fans will appreciate this.

“My whole album is inspired by so many types of music, and my sound will always be pop with grit. I’m just a singer who wants to put smiles on peoples’ faces!” she told Look magazine.

Rita is currently promoting her single How We Do (Party). She has explained what influenced her to work on such a track.

“This single was inspired by the Biggie Smalls song Party and Bulls**t,” she smiled.

Rita’s other music idols include Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé Knowles, as well as Kanye West.
