Jessica Simpson's father has been arrested for DUI.
The songstress' dad Joe landed himself in trouble on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles on Saturday August 4, according to law enforcement sources.
US website TMZ reports that the 54-year-old was pulled over by LAPD officers at around 10pm.
"During the stop, officers got the feeling he was intoxicated and ultimately cuffed the famous pop and took him to the pokey," an insider told the publication.
Joe was booked by officials and reportedly spent the night behind bars.
He was released the following morning at 9.41am and did not have to post bail.
It is believed Joe won't serve jail time if criminal charges are filed by prosecutors in the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office as it is his first offense.
He will more than likely be slapped with a fine for the arrest.
Joe recently became a grandfather again after his daughter Jessica gave birth to daughter Maxwell earlier this year.
"Jess dreamed since she was a young girl about being a mom. Dreams come true! So happy! (sic)," he wrote on his Twitter page.
