Mike Joyce, the drummer with Manchester band The Smiths, is running a new online radio station, which has started broadcasts from Salford Quays near the new MediaCityUK.

Beatwolf Radio’s line-up includes 6 Music presenters Jo Good and former 6 Music host Vic McGlynn, Bez (Happy Mondays), Dave Haslam, Inspiral Carpets’s Tom Hingley, Phil Beckett, NowWave Djs, and Warehouse Project regular Rich Reason.

Joyce – who has presented at regularly on BBC6 Music as well as a regular show on New York station EVR says: “Everybody has got two-hour slots. There are no playlists, and its genre-less. They choose their own material, which includes interviews, features, reviews and sessions. Judging by the feedback we’ve had it’s what people have been wanting for some time.”

Beatwolf has already featured live sessions by Alt-J and Zulu Winter, and promises some great surprise guests and sessions to come.
