The executors of Michael Jackson's estate are set to seek "an emergency guardianship" of the late star's children as they fear they are in "danger and without supervision."
The Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson, 82, was reported missing on Saturday after loved ones including her grandchildren Paris and Prince were unable to reach her. Katherine’s nephew Trent told police that she had not been in contact with family members for a week.
Katherine is now reportedly safe and well, but according to US website TMZ, the executors are preparing to go to court to "seek an emergency guardianship" of Paris, Prince and Blanket. It has been alleged that Katherine "has been effectively kidnapped by Michael's siblings and as a result his kids are in danger and without supervision."
Sources claim that the executors "feel responsible for protecting the kids" since they are the primary beneficiaries of their late father's estate.
Court papers are expected to be filed in the next few days.
To add to the Jackson family drama, Katherine's legal team released a statement today accusing Janet, Jermaine, and Randy Jackson of "ambushing" Michael's children - following an alleged battery incident there on Monday afternoon.
"Yesterday afternoon certain Jackson family members ambushed Katherine Jackson's home after their vehicle tore through security gates on the tails of the SUV containing Michael Jackson's children. After exiting their vehicles, Jackson family members ran up to Michael's children as they yelled and began to aggressively grab at the cell phones in their hands. Out of concern for the wellbeing [sic] of Prince, Paris, and Blanket Jackson, the children were forced to temporarily leave their home and taken to a safe location. An altercation ensued shortly thereafter and law enforcement arrived at the scene."
The Michael Jackson Estate has also released a statement.
"We are acutely concerned about the welfare of Mrs. Jackson, and most particularly with Michael's minor children," it read.
Meanwhile, Janet and Jermaine Jackson have been pictured arguing in front of the Jackson family home. The siblings were caught in the heated discussion shortly after police responded to an alleged battery incident there on Monday afternoon.
Someone inside the compound "accused someone else present of a physical assault", but despite L.A. County Sheriff's Deputies showing up after the report was filed no arrests were made.
It is not known whether Janet and Jermaine were involved in the disturbance claim.
The sibling's argument comes after the recent scandal stemming from a letter allegedly written by Janet, Rebbie, Tito, Randy and Jermaine Jackson.
The note apparently called for the Jackson Estate executors, John Branca and John McClain, to resign immediately because Michael’s siblings believe the King of Pop’s will is fake.
