Justin Bieber still gets stage fright.

The 18-year-old superstar gets nervous when he is put on the spot and has to speak in front of a crowd. Justin is confident when it comes to performing his hits on tour, but is struck by anxiety when he is forced to speak at award ceremonies where all eyes are on him.

“It’s weird. When I do acceptance speeches I freeze up. I don’t know how to speak in front of people,” Justin admits. “When I go on stage I always forget who to thank. But my team know I’m thankful to them regardless of whether I say so in my acceptance speech or not.”

The humble star is also grateful to his hordes of world-wide fans. Known collectively as Justin’s Beliebers, he recognises he wouldn’t have had such success if it wasn’t for them.

Justin has revealed his supporters come in all shapes and sizes and aren’t just teenage girls.

“Making the effort to go the extra mile for the fans only helps you. That’s what I’m all about, being good to my fans,” the teen heartthrob told Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

“The other day there was an old lady in the street, she was like 65, and she said, ‘Can I hug you?’ and after the hug she said to me, ‘Keep doing good in the world.’ I was really happy after that. I was pleased with her encouragement!”
