Kelis is set to release her own range of cooking sauces.

The Milkshake singer performed at this weekend’s Isle of Wight music festival in the UK after taking time out from singing. During her hiatus, Kelis qualified as a chef and is now planning to unveil a range of condiments to show off her skills.

"I love lifestyle stuff, I love housewares. I'm really a homebody, honestly,” she explained. “Anything to do with my kitchen, or my house, I'm all about it. I'm working on a sauce line, so that's kind of exciting. I'm a saucier."

Kelis also revealed she is working on material for her new album. The star laughed that she isn’t sure how much work she still has to do on the record as she’s so indecisive.

“It depends what day you ask me, some days I'm like, 'It's 80 per cent done,' and other days when I say, 'I'm 40 per cent done.’ I'm sort of midway I guess. It's exciting though, it's more electro, it's a little deeper and darker,” she told NME.

The 32-year old R&B star has previously spoken of how important it is for pop stars to learn other skills.

“In my line of work, you can forget how good it is to learn again,” she confessed.

Between 2006 and 2010 Kelis trained part-time as a chef, eventually graduating from the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Hollywood.
