Josh Duhamel loves pets, but is intent on “raising a human” with his wife Fergie as soon as possible.
The actor and the Black Eyed Peas singer celebrated their third wedding anniversary in January of this year.
Josh became involved with PetSmart Charities, an organisation that helps pets find homes, after his adopted dog Meatloaf died of a brain disorder.
Although he is intent on helping homeless animals find loving parents, Josh would like to concentrate on having children with Fergie.
“We're going to focus on a human first,” Josh told Us Weekly. “We're going to focus on raising a human and then maybe we'll get a dog after that.”
Josh is happy to parent his and Fergie’s future babies around adopted animals.
“[My dog Meatloaf] was so appreciative of us and giving him a home. [I tell everyone to adopt], not because it's the right thing to do, but because they truly make the best pets,” he said. “We know how [our current dog] Zoe is and she's really good around kids.”
