Eddie Van Halen told USA Today that Van Halen postponed over thirty North American tour dates because "We bit off more than we could chew."

"This record took a lot out of us. And we went on tour earlier than we wanted to so we could play Madison Square Garden, and that threw the schedule out of whack." There was a deadline for the Madison Square Garden show because the venue was being shutdown for renovations.

Eddie went on to say that many of the postponed shows "were in cities we already played, so in November, we'll hit Japan, and in the new year, we'll possibly do something special, but I can't talk about it."
