Robin Thicke “puts everything he’s got into music.”

The 35-year-old R&B crooner is a mentor on upcoming US TV talent show Duets.

Robin will be judging alongside Kelly Clarkson, Sugarland star Jennifer Nettles and soul sensation John Legend.

The singer hopes to reach a larger audience through his new television role.

“For me, it's all about the music and all about the art, because that's what lasts forever, so I just try to put everything I've got into the music,” Robin told USA Today. “I want to use these opportunities to help inform more people about my music, because there will be a lot of people seeing this who've never heard of me before.”

Robin has collaborated with huge artists such as Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj in the past.

The star is comfortable with creating music with anyone.

“Nothing is outside of my comfort zone,” Robin explained. “For me, any song is just how you feel it, and if you can feel a lyric, then you can perform it well.”

Robin will not be judging Duets contestants harshly.

“I'm way too kind. I will be honest, but I want to be inspiring,” he said. “Because really, it's not about what you're not, it's about what you can be.”
