Marc Anthony is attempting to be as “civil and mature” as possible in his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The couple are splitting after seven years of marriage and are parents to four-year-old twins Max and Emme.
The Latin crooner doesn’t believe that acrimony would benefit anything at this time. Marc is intent on maintaining a good personal and professional relationship with Jennifer.
“Don’t go for the cheap shots,” Marc told Extra. “Just in any breakup, it can get hot and heavy because emotions are involved and it’s very easy to go for the cheap shot. When you concentrate on not playing that card, it’s infinitely easier. If you can learn anything it’s that it's possible to be civil and mature and adult about it. Period.”
Marc welcomes the adversity he is currently facing, as he believes the wisdom is valuable.
“I feel like I’m starting the next 40 years of my life with everything I’ve learned and everything I know,” he revealed.
Jennifer is currently dating 25-year-old backing dancer Casper Smart while Marc is seeing Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, 24.
