This is an initiative supported by the entire music industry and has the backing of ambassador Jessie J. She says, “I’m so proud of being British, my accent says it all. I think it’s very important to be proud of where you’re from, and I don’t think anywhere is like the UK. I think music is a perfect way to celebrate and we make it very well.”
The aim is to use this week to spotlight the amazing musical heritage that Great Britain has. A DVD of some of the most memorable British live performances ever seen will be released on Monday 14th May to mark the start of a week that will involve live performances, events and discussions on Great British Music.
