Marc Anthony has denied that he is after a large financial settlement from estranged wife Jennifer Lopez.
The couple are divorcing after seven years of marriage and are parents to four-year-old twins Max and Emme.
Their family lawyer Ron Anteau tells People magazine that the pair are trying to be as amicable as possible to avoid any nasty custody disputes or financial wrangling.
“The parties are working together to reach a friendly resolution that’s in the best interest of their children,” Ron said.
There had been reports that Marc, 43, was trying to dig into the American Idol judge’s finances and see if she was hiding money in offshore accounts.
“He’s not seeking financial support from her in this divorce,” the attorney said. “Never has, never will. This is about trying to figure out how best for two very busy parents to share their children.
Jennifer is currently dating 25-year-old backing dancer Casper Smart while Marc is seeing Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, 24.
