One Direction “can’t wait” to perform in North America during their 2013 world tour.

The boy band – comprising of Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne – recently made music history by becoming the first British group to top the US charts with their debut album, Up All Night.

To celebrate the huge fan base they’ve amassed in America, One Direction have announced that they will perform in 25 cities across Canada and the US next year.

“Our fans are simply the best in the world,” Niall Horan said statement released to MTV News. “The support they have shown us has been incredible and we're all so grateful to each and every one of them. We can't wait to see everyone this summer, at Madison Square Garden and of course when we play our world tour in 2013.”

The band’s international tour will commence at London’s O2 Arena in February 2013.

One Direction’s first American performance will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida June 13 2013. The group will close out their US and Canadian concerts in Los Angeles on August 7.

Tickets for the North American leg of the concert series go on sale April 21.
