Courtney Love claims that Bono wrote a character reference to help her secure a new apartment.
The singer has decided to move out of her rented townhouse in the West Village area of New York City after feuding with her landlord. Courtney is now living in a condo after impressing her new landlord with a star-studded list of people to vouch for her.
“They didn’t even credit-check,” Courtney told New York Daily News, before explaining her landlord asked for a character reference instead. “They chose Bono. And he wrote me a paragraph.”
The 47-year-old star has settled into her new abode and is very happy there. She has vowed to remain in New York City for the rest of her life.
“I’m going to be [in New York] till I’m 130,” she smiled.
In January, Courtney was taken to court after being accused of ruining the townhouse she was renting. However, the judge ruled in Courtney’s favour because he did not agree that the singer compromised her lease or owed any money in rent.
Courtney has revealed a neighbour has complained she was making too much noise since she moved into her new place. The star was playing records late into the night and her neighbour – who is pregnant – asked her to keep the music down.
“I’ve never gotten a noise complaint. It sounds really lame, being a rock star and all. But I haven’t,” she said, before explaining she has now resolved the issue. “It’s all good now. I didn’t know! I don’t do noise complaints."
However, Courtney soon realised she had offended another neighbour in the past.
The star was watching a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston – which promoted complaints.
“I did get one once, when I was living on the sixth floor of the Mercer [Hotel]. I was watching that movie with Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler,” she recalled. “The person next-door called and complained it was too loud."
